Responsibilities of Procurement Specialist at PZ Cussons
1. Collaborating with the Head of Procurement to develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
2. Obeying and enforcing the company’s procurement regulations and procedures.
3. Reviewing, comparing, and analyzing products and services for purchase.
4. Managing inventory and keeping accurate purchase and pricing records.
5. Keeping and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges.
6. Maintaining strong supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
7. Researching and analyzing potential suppliers.
8. Create budgets, cost assessments, and reports.
9. Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating intelligence to find value-creating possibilities in the supply chain.
10. Help design category strategies, then implement and execute them.
11. Serve as the primary local liaison between the supplier and internal customers, facilitating the settlement of supplier nonconformances and managing supplier escalation/rescheduling.
12. Work with the procurement manager to establish and implement procurement strategy.
13. Developing/agreeing with the internal customer. Service Level Agreements. Risk management program and proper supply measurement instruments to help drive continual improvement.
Qualifications for Procurement Specialist
- University degree in any commercially oriented discipline.
- Relevant 3+ years of post-qualification experience, including some quality procurement functional experience in a forward-thinking, fast-paced, value-adding blue-chip FMCG environment.
- Professional procurement qualifications (GIPS/ISM/MBA) are desirable, as is the ability to quickly build a comprehensive understanding of world-class procurement systems and procedures, including all category management processes and associated tools.
- Ability to capitalize on chances to get the best value in procurement and supplier management within
- Capable of dealing with ambiguity and managing different relationships in a multicultural context, as well as accepting criticism and learning from it.
- Strong IT background, with moderate competency in office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and organizing skills.
- Have good quantitative analysis skills.
- Good understanding of financial management.
- Experience managing procurement functions independently for a similar-sized firm for at least 2 years is required.
- A background in FMCG is a plus.
