Responsibilities of Quality Assurance Manager at PZ Cussons
- Manage the quality team to ensure that quality control and assurance are delivered on-site.
- Create and implement rules and standards for hygiene and quality.
- Monitor and manage the quality of both in-process and final items. Conduct all QA audits on vendors and contractors.
- Coordinate and facilitate NPD initiatives in conjunction with the marketing department.
- Drive ongoing quality improvement. Determine the quality of all items and maintain ongoing comparison with competitors in order to improve products.
- Ensure that all chemical raw materials to be sourced/purchased are properly treated/selected using the MTR procedure.
- Prepare and document Quality Control daily/weekly/monthly reports and technical information or data on raw materials/packaging, work-related
- n-process and final goods to support factory RCAs and problem-solving sessions.
Qualification
- Requirements include a degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Technology/Food Science, as well as 8-10 years of work experience, including at least 4 years in a comparable role.
- The ability to bear stress and pressure.
- Experience as a quality professional, as well as experience in R&D and manufacturing/CAT technologies.
- Skills in preparing BOM formulations and mass/materials balance.
- Understanding of stoichiometry, manufacturing processes, and unit operations.
- Knowledge of instruments and analysis.
EMS, OHSMS and FSSC Responsibilities
- Implement and comply with EMS/FSSC/OHS requirements for environmental elements and implications, as well as any policies, procedures, and/or regulations relevant to assigned jobs.
- Assist the Food Safety Leader to ensure, maintain, and sustain the FSMS implementation.
- Understand and apply the intent of the EMS/FSSC/OHS policies and standards to assigned jobs.
- Understand the duties and responsibilities, as well as the importance of adhering to the EMS/FSSC/OHS requirements.
- Understand the important environmental issues and related real or potential implications of their work, as well as the environmental benefits of increased personal performance.
- Understand the potential implications of deviating from certain OHS procedures or regulatory requirements.
- Ensure prompt escalation (sufficient communication) of any food safety issues to FSTL and/or the next level of reporting manager.
