Job Summary
- This position will play a critical role in driving reservoir characterization, development planning, and decision-making processes in our technically complex and high-potential oil and gas areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reservoir Evaluation & Characterization
- Supervise the analysis and interpretation of well log data to determine reservoir parameters like porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation.
- Combine petrophysical data with geological, geophysical, and engineering datasets to build strong reservoir models.
- Assist reservoir management by giving information on fluid dynamics and reservoir behavior.
Data Integration & Interpretation
- Use sophisticated petrophysical software and methodologies to process, analyze, and interpret logging and core data.
- Ensure seamless integration of petrophysical, seismic, and production data to improve hydrocarbon recovery techniques.
Mentoring & Team Building
- Mentor junior personnel and provide technical guidance, promoting team skill growth.
- Well Planning and Execution:

- Offer expert advice and petrophysical input during well planning, completion, and workover operations.
- Ensure real-time decision-making throughout drilling and logging operations.
- Assess the effectiveness of finishing strategies and make ideas for improvement.
Research and Innovation
- Stay up to date on evolving petrophysics technologies, tools, and approaches.
- Develop and apply novel solutions to reservoir characterisation difficulties.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations about petrophysical evaluations and findings for management and stakeholders.
- Maintain reliable records of petrophysical data and interpretations.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- A thorough understanding of petrophysical principles, log interpretation, and core analysis.
- Proficient in combining diverse datasets to create accurate reservoir models.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry-standard petrophysical and reservoir modeling techniques.
- A willingness to work in a variety of field situations and adapt to the oil and gas industry’s ever-changing landscape.
- Excellent attention to detail in data analysis, interpretation, and documentation.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, or a similar subject. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in petrophysics in the upstream oil and gas business, with extensive exposure to reservoir characterization.
- Demonstrated proficiency with advanced logging tools (e.g., LWD, MWD, NMR) and data analysis methods.
- Proficient in using petrophysical software such as Techlog, Petrel, Interactive Petrophysics (IP), and other related tools.
- Certification in relevant areas or technologies (such as SPE Certified Petroleum Professional) is advantageous.
