About the Position
It is an important function to ensure that automobiles operating in the state are compliant with the statutory safety and roadworthiness criteria.
The successful candidate for the position of Mechanical Engineer II in the VIO structure will use engineering principles in the areas of vehicle inspection, defect identification and regulatory enforcement.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: B.Eng. or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related Engineering discipline from a recognised institution
- Professional Registration: COREN registration (or eligibility for registration) is an added advantage
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and safety standards
- Communication: Good report-writing, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects and enforce standards consistently
