ECOWAS, which stands for the Economic Community of West African States, has initiated the immersion program for young graduates coming from ECOWAS universities, which is designated as Batch 2025.
Young graduates from ECOWAS Member States who are 32 years old or under are eligible to participate in the program.

About the 2025 ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Program
The Young Graduate Immersion Program of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in 2025 will provide a contribution to the professional integration of young graduates by providing them with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of ECOWAS programs while simultaneously allowing them to contribute to the efficiency of the implementation of these programs.
The program will also give participants an opportunity to fully experience the services of regional institutions, such as Institutions, Agencies, Departments, and Resident Representations.
It will also set up a way for recent university graduates to help carry out major ECOWAS programs in Departments, Agencies, Resident Representations, and Institutions.
Expected Results of the 2025 ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Program
- Young graduates gain valuable professional experience by participating in ECOWAS programs, which is vital for their future careers.
- The young graduates of ECOWAS contribute to the implementation of the organization’s programs.
Target Audience:
- Graduates under the age of 32 who come from fifteen (15) different ECOWAS member states.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Program
To be eligible for the program, candidates should satisfy the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of a member country of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS);
- Possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, or equivalent degree;
In addition to the above, you will also submit:
- a request to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs (DHAS) that outlines the candidate’s motivation, expression of interests, selection of the requested profile, desired immersion location, and willingness to adhere to the program’s terms and conditions;
- a Curriculum vitae (PDF);
- a digital copy of the passport or national identity card (pdf or jpeg);
- a PDF of the academic diploma(s) or its equivalent.
Selection Terms and Process
- The ECOWAS Departments and host structures delineate the program positions prior to each program, enabling the candidate to submit in accordance with the requirements of these structures.
- The attached roster indicates that 120 positions are available for the year 2025.
- The Technical Selection Committee is responsible for selecting the beneficiaries of the Immersion Program.
- Only the selected candidates will be contacted to proceed with the rest of the procedure.
Duration, Location And Conditions Of The Immersion Program
- The Immersion Program for young graduates in ECOWAS institutions is non-renewable and lasts for a maximum of 12 months, or one year.
- The Program is implemented in ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Resident Representations, and Institutions, as well as any other location that has been officially designated by ECOWAS.
- At the conclusion of his immersion, the young graduate who is the beneficiary of the Program generates a report in three copies. One copy is forwarded to the Department of Human Development and Social Affairs (DHAS), another to the user department, and the final copy is retained by the young graduate.
- The host structure will be used to establish the practical provisions for the program’s operation.
- The Immersion Program is exclusively physical. The young graduate is obligated to attend any information or program feedback meeting convened by the Program Coordination, either in person or online (for those not residing in Abuja).

Important Consideration
- A candidate for the immersion program is permitted to submit applications for a maximum of two positions.
- Any young graduate who would be eligible for an alternative scholarship or support system will be replaced by a candidate from the waiting list
- Young graduates who have already received benefits from the Immersion Program in ECOWAS institutions are no longer eligible.
- With the compilation of a technical report, young graduates will be fully immersed in the aforementioned structures.
