Job Description
- This position will be accountable for fostering innovation, increasing operational efficiency, and optimizing petroleum workflows and processes from exploration to operation.Â
- The chosen candidate will join the Digital and Innovation team, which consists of Digital Architects (Petroleum & Enterprise) and a Data Management Specialist.
- Â In addition, the position will work closely with other departments to discover possibilities, adopt/develop cutting-edge and innovative solutions, and implement long-term data-driven practices and decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and implementation of a comprehensive digital architectural framework adapted to the value chain’s specific needs, from exploration to manufacturing operations.
- Analyze current workflows and processes to find opportunities for automation, optimization, and streamlining through the strategic use of cutting-edge digital technology.
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of a strong data strategy that includes data governance, integration, quality, security, and analytics. Optimize data utilization to drive informed decision-making.
- Oversee the integration of many platforms and workflows to ensure that data flows smoothly throughout the exploration and development team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create effective digital solutions. Evaluate technological solutions to verify they are appropriate and aligned with the broader digital architecture.
- Identify and assess emerging technologies with the potential to enhance our business operations, providing recommendations for adoption.
- Work closely with Digital and IT teams, Exploration and Development team, business units, and external partners to foster a culture of digital innovation
Requirements for Digital and Innovation Lead at FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited
- The ideal candidate holds a B.Sc/HND in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Petroleum engineering or other related fields.
- Digital Skills: Software Development, Data Analysis, etc.
- A minimum of 7 years of expertise managing petroleum workflows and data, as well as designing and implementing digital architecture, is required, with a preference for the petroleum business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital technologies like cloud computing, IoT, data analytics, AI/ML, and process automation.
- A thorough understanding of petroleum workflows, procedures, and industry-specific data needs.
- Proven experience in database design and data governance standards for petroleum operations.
- Strong project management skills and experience working on a cross-functional technological effort.
- The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.
- Passionate about using technology to alter traditional petroleum processes.
- Possess a strong analytical and problem-solving approach when dealing with complicated technical and business challenges.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and articulate the advantages of suggested digital solutions.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are required to engage with many departments and stakeholders.
