Applications are scheduled to begin at twelve o’clock in the morning on November 2nd, 2024, according to the announcement made by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) regarding the opening of its recruiting portal for tax officer positions.
In a post that was published on Friday through X, the tax authority announced that it is looking to fill Tax Officer I and Officer II positions in different states throughout Nigeria.

There are eight states in Nigeria that are eligible to apply for these positions: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo. Successful candidates, on the other hand, should be aware that they “must be prepared to work in any of FIRS’s business locations,” regardless of the place in which they initially expressed a preference for working.
Eligibility Criteria For 2024 FIRS Recruitment
Candidates are required to fulfill a number of essential requirements in order to be eligible. The age requirement says that applicants “must be 27 years old or below by 31st December 2024.” In addition, candidates must have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) no later than December 31st, 2021 according to Punch News.
A Bachelor’s Degree (or HND) in First Class/Second Class Upper Division” in a relevant field is one of the educational criteria to become a tax officer with the FIRS. While relevant fields of study include Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, and other related fields.
Additionally, the organization stated that “relevant master’s degrees and professional affiliations (such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, NSE, etc.) will be an added advantage.”
“Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further assessments, which may include aptitude tests, interviews, and medical examinations,” according to the recruitment notice.
In addition to advising applicants to “be cautious of fraudulent recruitment activities” and directing all applications to their official portal, which can be found at www.firs.gov.ng/careers, the Federal International Recruitment Service (FIRS) emphasized the need of using official application channels.

Application Deadline for 2024 FIRS Recruitment
It was stated that the submission deadline is on the 14th of November, 2024.
In light of the fact that multiple applications are not permitted, it is strongly recommended that candidates who are interested submit only one application for the place of their choice.
