About Terawork
The idea for TERAWORK came about in 2015 when he had a not-so-great experience working remotely with a stranger he met online to help him finish a software project. He clearly needed help from an expert for a few days. He didn’t get one.
The unpleasant experience was because there was no online platforms within the region that had an end to end process to hire remote personnel in a flexible and safe way.
Thus, he built a procedure that he employs frequently to discover and engage independent contractors for his projects on an on-demand basis. Unlike before, the approach allows him and his independent worker to trust working remotely with each other. And he thought: I’m going to take this technique and turn it into a technology that lots of people can use.

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, secure, optimize, and maintain the organization’s database infrastructure.
- The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, data integrity, security, performance, and reliable backup and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement database security policies, procedures, and access controls.
- Support database users and provide technical guidance where required.
- Troubleshoot database issues and minimize downtime.
- Monitor database performance and ensure high availability and optimal query response times.
- Manage database backup, recovery, security, and data integrity.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation, reports, and standards.
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain database systems.
- Work with vendors and IT teams to implement solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Perform regular testing, maintenance, patching, and version upgrades.
- Ensure databases comply with security, privacy, and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
- Familiarity with database administration and third-party management tools.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database security, backup and recovery, and data integrity.
- Experience with database design, documentation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 3 – 5+ years of relevant experience as a Database Administrator.
- Knowledge of programming languages and APIs is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or similar database platforms.
Salary
₦500,000 – ₦600,000 monthly.
