Job Purpose

The Internal Audit Officer will assist in analyzing the sufficiency and effectiveness of the company’s internal controls, as well as regulatory compliance, to ensure continual improvement of Egbin Power Plc entire business operations.

Role Accountabilities

  • Conduct continuous reviews of all operational processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate the sufficiency and efficacy of the company’s internal controls, as well as regulatory compliance, to ensure continual improvement of Egbin Power Plc’s overall business operations.
  • Evaluate the company’s internal control system and provide recommendations for improvements and modifications as needed.
  • Responsible for conducting various audits and evaluations, with a focus on corporate governance.
  • Performs audit procedures to ensure that controls are in place. 
  • Validity tests are conducted to determine the control environment’s effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identifies control gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Check for changes on technical subjects needed to support audits (e.g., Basel III, OSFI Guidelines, market risk, etc.).
  • Assist in creating audit reports for management.
  • Assess, analyze, and promote adherence to Egbin’s internal policies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Audit Team Lead.
  • Implement Egbin Power Plc data protection policies and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws and policies.
  • Conduct a Data Protection Impact Assessment as needed to reduce the risk during data processing processes.
  • Take responsibility for establishing and effectively implementing an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018), as well as assisting other relevant roles in demonstrating leadership in your areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure a strategic evaluation of corporate procedures to increase customer satisfaction and boost performance.
  • Engage, direct, and support individuals/units/departments in understanding and identifying dangers, risks, environmental elements, and impacts associated with their jobs. 
  • Carry other tasks assigned by the Head of Internal Audit.

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or any relevant course 
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. CIA, ICAN, ACCA, etc).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook
  • Must possess a strong moral code.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Good analytical and investigative skills
