About Madonna University
Madonna University Nigeria is a private Catholic university located in Okija, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Madonna University origin can be traced to the late 90s, when the esteemed Madonna University was established by Very Rev. Fr. Prof. E.M.P. Edeh CSSp, OFR.
The Nigerian federal government had given her the green light to begin operations by 1999. With its first campus in Okija, Anambra State,
Madonna institution made history that year. It was the first private Catholic institution in the West African sub-region and the first private university to receive approval from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Currently, there are three campuses that make up Madonna University, Nigeria. In 2004, the main management campus was relocated to Elele, Rivers State. The Okija campus was kept as one of the campuses.
In 2011, the Akpugo campus, which is for the engineering and technical sciences began to function.
