Available Positions and Cadres
NAQS is recruiting across three broad cadres:
1. Superintendent Cadre
- Chief Superintendent of Quarantine (CSQ) – For Veterinary Doctors (CONMESS 2)
- Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine (DSQ) – For Law graduates or Master’s degree holders (CONRAISS 08)
- Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II (ASQ-II) – For first degree holders (CONRAISS 07)
2. Inspectorate Cadre
- Inspector of Quarantine I, II & III – For OND/NCE holders (CONRAISS 05)
3. Assistant Cadre
- Quarantine Assistant I, II & III – For SSCE/NECO/GCE holders (CONRAISS 04)
Educational Requirements by Cadre

| Inspectorate Cadre | Ordinary National Diploma (OND) OR Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) |
| Assistant Cadre | SSCE, NECO or GCE O/Level with at least 5 credits including English & Mathematics (not more than two sittings) |
General Requirements
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Nigerian by birth
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- Be medically fit with a certificate of fitness from a government hospital
- Pass a drug test
- Be of good character with no criminal conviction
- Not belong to any secret cult or society
- Be free from financial embarrassment
- Be computer literate
Physical Requirements
- Male applicants: Minimum height of 1.65 metres and chest measurement of at least 0.87 metres
- Female applicants: Minimum height of 1.55 metres
Who Should NOT Apply
The agency advised that persons with the following conditions need not apply:
- Severe speech impairment (stammering/dumbness)
- Hearing impairment (deafness)
- Total blindness or defective eyesight
- Obesity
- Limb deformities
- Any other physical deformity
