History of NASCON Allied Industries Plc

NASCON was previously called the National Salt Company of Nigeria, and it was incorporated back in the year 1973.

The company started with edible salt which was refined for households and industrial applications..

Founded in Lagos, Nigeria, NASCON started as a state-owned firm but underwent significant changes following its privatization.

Everything turned for the better for the company when in 1991 they were listed on the Nigerian stock exchange and gained the ability to operate as a public company.

This action provided the firm with the capability to grow, create, broaden and expand the product range offered by the firm.

Over the years, NASCON evolved from being solely a salt manufacturing entity into a diversified producer of spices, seasonings, and other consumer goods under the Dangote Group—a powerful conglomerate in Africa.

Integration into the Dangote Group

In 1993, NASCON became a subsidiary of one of Africa’s largest multinational conglomerates. Dangote Group. This acquisition raised the potential of the company and allowed it to leverage world class resources, strong leadership and other synergistic benefits, as well as better service levels.

Conglomerate chairman Aliko Dangote oversaw NASCON during its boom, building a reputation for delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of Nigerian households and industries.
