The Job
- We are in search of a Computer Science educator who is passionate and can provide our students with practical and engaging ICT teachings.
- You will be accountable for introducing young learners to fundamental digital skills, fostering their curiosity about technology, and preparing them for a digitally-driven world.
- This position necessitates a teacher who can establish a positive and productive learning environment by combining technical proficiency with exceptional classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive and age-appropriate ICT lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Equip students with practical digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and safe internet usage.
- Introduce basic coding concepts to young learners using appropriate educational software and tools.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and functional computer lab environment.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of performance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging educational technologies and integrate them into teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate ICT across other subjects where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: HND / BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. NCE in Computer Studies is also acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of proven teaching experience in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Proficiency: Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace & Classroom, internet research tools, and basic coding software (e.g., Scratch, Python basics, or similar).
- Classroom Management: Ability to maintain discipline and foster a focused, engaging learning environment.
- Communication: Clear, articulate, and professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for young learners.
- Adaptability: Creative and flexible in adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Punctuality & Reliability: Demonstrated commitment to punctuality and professional responsibilities.
- Proximity: Must be able to commute reliably to Satellite Town, Lagos.
