Role Summary
- We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Solar Installation Engineer based in Lagos. This is a great chance for a professional with minimum 1 year experience in the renewable energy sector.
- The ideal applicant will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and maintenance of solar PV systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications. This position requires a solid technical background, attention to detail and the ability to operate independently and in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Photovoltaic (PV) systems should be installed, inspected, and maintained in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Interpret and apply solar system designs and schematics.
- Perform on-site assessments to identify system requirements and installation feasibility.
- Coordinate with project engineers, electricians, and contractors to ensure timely and proper installation.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PV systems as needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety requirements and corporate rules.
- Keep accurate records of installations, materials, and service operations.
- Provide client assistance and education about system operation and maintenance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a comparable technological field.
- A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in solar PV installation or a similar renewable energy field.
- A demonstrated mastery of solar PV system components, wiring, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and testing instruments used in solar installations.
- Experience with hybrid systems, battery storage, or solar water heating systems is beneficial.
- Relevant certificates (such as NABCEP and PV Installation Professional) are advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent physical health and the ability to operate at heights or in a variety of outdoor environments.
