About the Nigeria NLNG Prize for Science 2025
The Advisory Board for Science is handling the 2025 NLNG Prize for Science Award on behalf of Nigeria LNG Limited.
The Prize is an annual award meant to inspire scientific and technological development and application. The search for a distinguished prize in science is expected to advance research and technology in Nigeria, answer problems relevant to the growth of the nation, and assist to raise living standards.
Entries from scientists and inventors all around are invited to advance scientific solutions to a designated problem as reflected in the subject for the year, Innovations and Technologies for Reducing the Effects of Climate Change.
Eligibility Requirements for Nigeria Prize for Science 2025 (NLNG)
- The award is open to scientists and innovators worldwide (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) active in the use of research to provide innovation and solutions for mitigating the effects of climate change.
- Members of the Advisory Board or Panel of Judges, or their family, are not permitted to submit works for the Science Prize during their year of service or the following year.
- Staff and family members of Nigeria LNG Limited are ineligible to enter the prize while on the job and for five (5) years afterward.
- The study should be of exceptional excellence, having expanded the frontiers of knowledge and/or providing breakthrough technologies for mitigating the effects of climate change.
- The entry should be a finished scientific effort supported by a proof of concept or a tangible societal impact.
- Each individual or group can only submit one entry.
- All materials supporting the entry must be provided within the period specified.

Application Procedure
- The prize will be granted solely on the basis of excellence.
- Because the goal is to identify the most appropriate and effective solution to a specific problem that benefits Nigeria, collaborative efforts by two or more people are also encouraged.
- Each contestant(s) is only permitted to submit one entry each competition year.
- Entries not submitted by the stipulated deadline and under the stated requirements will not be considered.
