Job Summary

The Operations Intern will support the Operations team in coordinating and monitoring daily activities within our furniture manufacturing factory. This role offers practical, real-world experience in production coordination, inventory monitoring, materials management, quality checks, logistics, and documentation, ensuring that operational activities are completed efficiently and on schedule.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Production Support: Assist the Operations team in monitoring daily factory and production activities, tracking production jobs, and following up on pending tasks and deadlines.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor the availability and movement of raw materials, tools, and other production items. Collaborate with the Stores team to maintain accurate inventory and stock records.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Support coordination between Production, Stores, Procurement, Logistics, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Issue Identification: Identify and report production delays, material shortages, equipment issues, and other operational challenges to the Operations Manager.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in monitoring finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and are ready for the next stage or delivery.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records, trackers, and reports.
  • Process Compliance: Support compliance with factory processes, SOPs, safety requirements, and operational standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in identifying areas for improvement and carry out other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or Lead.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Currently pursuing an HND or degree on an Industrial Training (IT), SIWES, or one-year internship programme, or recently completed a relevant programme in Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with different teams.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced factory environment and follow instructions.
  • Mindset: Demonstrates genuine interest in manufacturing, production, logistics, inventory, and operations.
