Job Description

The primary responsibility of the packaging team lead is to lead the SBU in the execution of the production plan, quality control and analysis, autonomous maintenance activities, and production problem resolutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by

  • Adhering to safety, health, and environmental policies and legislation. 
  • Maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Optimize production performance and processes.

  • Manage shift according to VPO tools and principles.
  • Manage shifts to meet production plan within authorized costs.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance and autonomous operations.
  • Monitor and coordinate production operations to stay within budget.
  • Interpret and implement the production plan for the shift.
  • Develop and foster relationships with consumers and suppliers.

Administrative Duties

  • Ensure the use of administrative systems and procedures.
  • Administer working conditions for team members.
  • Contribute to individual and team development.
  • Prepare and control budgets.

Initiate and Facilitate Team Problem Solving and Decision Making

  • Implement problem-solving and decision-making methodologies and principles.
  • Facilitate team issue solving. Manage human resources.
  • Develop employees.
  • Maintain a healthy industrial relations climate.
  • Manage and implement people policies and practices.

Optimize Team Performance

  • Promote successful team dynamics.
  • Implement the performance management and OPR processes.
  • Lead the shift-based team/s in executing the production plan to the appropriate performance standards (QCDSM).

Qualification for Packaging Team Leader at International Breweries

  • Experience in a packaging process environment
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an FMCG environment.
