NBTE Approval vs Programme Accreditation
One of the biggest mistakes prospective students make is assuming that institutional approval means every programme offered by the institution is automatically accredited.
This is not necessarily the case.
NBTE is responsible for the accreditation of academic programmes in technical and vocational education institutions.
Therefore, students should verify two things:
1. Is the institution approved?
2. Is the specific programme accredited?
This distinction is particularly important because NBTE directories contain programme specific accreditation statuses and expiration dates.
For example, NBTE’s published records for Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, contain programme specific accreditation information.
