Job Description
- The Procurement Officer specializing in Direct Procurement will be in charge of sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring products, components, and services required for our direct business operations.
- Staff will collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and other relevant parties to improve the procurement process and contribute to the overall success of our organization’s aims and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
- Establish effective vendor management relationships with major vendors.
- Identify and assess possible suppliers for direct procurement needs.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to reach favorable agreements.
- Ensure proper paperwork for every corporate vendor in the category.
Procurement Planning:
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify their immediate purchase requirements.
- Create and implement successful procurement strategies that match with the company’s goals.
- Ensure that all purchases are in accordance with the internal department’s budget.
- Manage negotiations to get the best possible costs for direct materials products.
- Monitor critical parameters to ensure successful analysis and reporting.
Cost optimization
- identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality or satisfaction.
Risk management
- identifying and mitigating potential procurement risks for direct procurement activity.
- Create a contingency plan to deal with any anticipated procurement difficulties.
Contract management:
- Ensure vendor compliance with SLAs and contract documents for local packaging and direct materials.
- • Monitor and assess supplier performance against contract terms.
- • Ensure that contracts meet legal and regulatory standards.
Process Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
- Continuously analyze and improve the direct procurement process to ensure its efficacy and efficiency.
Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any related discipline.
- 2–3 years of previous experience, preferably in a manufacturing context.
- Exceptional oral, writing, and listening communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent coordination, initiative, originality, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to fulfill deadlines.
- Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates good financial management skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and the Microsoft Office suite.
