Job Summary
The Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of University trucks for the transportation of materials, equipment, and supplies across campus and designated routes.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth logistics and operational flow of the University’s activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and manage University trucks for the transportation of materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Cargo Handling: Ensure safe loading, transportation, and unloading of goods in compliance with safety standards.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logbooks.
- Reporting: Report mechanical issues promptly and ensure vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation.
Requirements
- Age Limit: Applicants must not be more than 45 years of age at the time of application.
- Education: Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s Licence is required.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience driving trucks or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
- Personal Attributes: Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain accurate transportation records.
