Position Overview
This role provides hands-on technical support in the routine inspection and maintenance checks of vehicles across the state.
As an Assistant Craftsman, the successful candidate will assist senior inspection officers in carrying out basic mechanical checks, identifying visible defects, and supporting the enforcement of roadworthiness and safety standards.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: FSLC (First School Leaving Certificate) plus a Pass in the Federal Ministry of Labour Trade Test Certificate Class III in the appropriate trade
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and safety checks
- Communication: Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify visible defects and apply standards consistently
- Teamwork: Willingness to work under supervision and support senior inspection officers
- Physical Fitness: Ability to carry out hands-on inspection duties
