Job Description of Warehouse Controller At Guinness Nigeria
Warehouse Controllers must successfully lead and control the receiving process in compliance with division of duties and CARM guidelines. They must maintain a high level of delivery accuracy and document processing speed.
The function ensures that all deliveries to the factory are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with established requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the receiving process in accordance with the separation of roles.
- Manage raw materials inventories to help the GN supply chain satisfy customer and consumer expectations while also ensuring responsibility.
- Maintain GMP standards in raw material storage.
- Accountable SLOB inventory accuracy.
- Ensure FEFO when managing raw materials to avoid SLOB.
- Ensure that all deliveries to plants meet quality criteria and that amounts are confirmed.
- Create and combine receiving essential metrics and supplier performance measurements.
- Implement the company’s materials management plan for receiving procedures and meeting internal customer service level standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Asset Care, Brewing, and Packaging departments during the early material management stages to ensure that the appropriate raw materials are available when needed.
- Ensure that supplies are always safeguarded from deterioration.
- Ensure that quality inspections are done on time and as scheduled.
- Successfully manage the Return to Vendor process.
- Maintain ties with Finance and Procurement for handling non-conformances and vendor returns.
- Produce reports on an agreed-upon frequency to alert relevant partners when things are going to go out of stock.
- Conduct stock counts to ensure there is no difference between expected and actual stock.
- Manage the receiving process to ensure that all deliveries meet predefined quality requirements, purchase order details, and are quickly and accurately identified.
- Ensure that all goods receipt transactions are completed correctly and promptly.
- Ensure the safety of delivered materials from damage or theft.
- Ensure that supplies flow smoothly through the stores, allowing for accurate real-time inventory records and material availability.
- Manage all non-conformances and return them to vendors in an accurate and timely manner. Assist Finance and Procurement in resolving non-conformances.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Owns and champions all brewery receipts.
- Collaborate with the MRP Manager and Central Planning Team to successfully handle nonconformance.
- Communicate with Store Technicians and other internal customers to ensure that materials flow smoothly through the stores.
Qualification and Experience Required
- OND or higher in a science or business subject.
- Inventory management experience gained in a brewery or FMCG manufacturing sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of raw materials, commodities, equipment, and associated spare parts.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, ideally Maximo/SAP.
- A solid understanding of the fundamental principles of materials management.
