Position Summary
The Blocks Production Officer will support the Production Officer in overseeing the day-to-day operations and production procedures for the manufacture of Mshel building blocks and machines.
The work will involve assisting in the co-ordination of production schedules, monitoring quality control, troubleshooting operational issues and helping to optimise production efficiency .
The role demands a candidate with good problem solving skills, experience with machinery operations and the capacity to operate under pressure to meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Production Officer in leading the manufacturing team and overseeing all aspects of the production process.
- Help develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and meet project Timelines.
- Monitor production activities and identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and quality
- Assist in the implementation of quality control measures and protocols to ensure products meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on proper operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Analyze production data and provide reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the Production Officer.
- Conduct routine checks on machinery and equipment, reporting faults or irregularities promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Purchasing, Inventory to coordinate production needs.
- Recommend process improvements and contribute ideas to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in the production of blocks and troubleshooting of machinery
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the production team
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with machinery operations and maintenance procedures
Additional Preferences:
- Experience with block molding machines and concrete block production
- Knowledge of quality control standards for building blocks
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules for industrial machinery
