The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) is delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 NHEF Scholars Program.
NHEF strives to enable young talented Nigerians to reach their full potential by providing the necessary knowledge, experiences, and valuable networks in an effort to empower them as professionals and leaders.
Students are now able to apply for the NHEF Scholars Program. The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) is delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 NHEF Scholars Program. NHEF strives to enable young talented Nigerians to reach their full potential by providing the necessary knowledge, experiences, and valuable networks in an effort to empower them as professionals and leaders.
The NHEF Scholars Program targets students currently in their second to last year of higher education with the following benefits:
- Get distinct internship positions with Patricia organizations in Nigeria.Â
- Attend and participate in impactful seminars and leadership and career workshops.Â
- Network with NHEF professionals working in a wide range of fields and provide mentorship to students.
Eligibility Criteria for the NHEF Scholars Program 2025
To be considered for the 2025 NHEF Scholars Program, candidates must:
- Penultimate-year students enrolled at an NHEF Partner University: (AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, BAYERO UNIVERSITY, UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN, UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS, UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT).
- Be well-rounded individuals who have excelled academically, extracurricularly, and professionally.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to community involvement, generosity, and the desire to have a lasting impact on society.
Submission Procedure for the NHEF Scholars Program 2025
NHEF Scholars Program 2025 application portal
- All submissions must be submitted to the NHEF Application Portal https://portal.thenhef.org
by March 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (WAT).
Application Portal Guide
- Log in to the NHEF application site at https://portal.thenhef.org
- Register by making an account on the portal with your first and last name, email address, phone number, and password.
- After registration, confirm your email address by checking the inbox of the email address you registered with. Click the link or copy and paste the URL into your web browser.
- Once your account has been authenticated, log in with the email address and password you created.
- Proceed to the application by clicking the APPLY tab on the dashboard.
- Complete all of the bio-data and program essay questions on the application page.
- Candidates must be prepared to provide the following supporting documents: a one-page Curriculum Vitae (CV), a one-page Cover Letter, and their most recent Statement of Results (all in PDF format).
- Review the application responses and submit.
- Note: We recommend that interested candidates prepare their solutions to the application questions on a different document, such as a Word document, so that they may easily copy and paste them into the application answer box. This is because the app cannot be stored. Thus, it must be completed and submitted at once.
When your Application Submission is Successful
It is important that you take notice of the following procedures in order to verify that the application was successfully submitted:
- After submitting an application, the applicant’s dashboard will display the message “Scholars Program – Application Submitted on YY-MM-DD and the time it was submitted”.
- An email confirming that the application was successfully submitted will be sent to the applicant’s email address.
- Also, when you click the Scholars Program application tab on the dashboard, it will no longer be available.
The applicants are able to assess whether or not their application was successfully submitted by following the three stages that have been mentioned above.
