About May & Baker Nigeria Plc
May & Baker, Nigeria Plc was incorporated on 4th September, 1944 as the first pharmaceutical firm in Nigeria.
It has its origins in England, United Kingdom where in 1834 three chemists created Grimwade, May & Pickett, a chemical production enterprise for pharmaceutical items. 1839 Changes in ownership resulted in Grimwade, May & Pickett becoming May & Baker United Kingdom Limited. May & Baker UK Limited was developed into a huge European conglomerate through a web of mergers and acquisitions over years .
As a result, the name of the corporation has changed several times and only the Nigerian subsidiary today bears the original name.
The company began in Nigeria as May & Baker (West Africa) Limited at 17A Tinubu Street, Lagos in 1944 as a commercial outpost to serve the West Coast of Africa.
The corporation moved to its current location in Ikeja, Lagos state during the Nigerian civil war. It established its business at Ikeja in 1976 and commenced local manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
It changed its name from May & Baker (West Africa) Limited to May & Baker Nigeria Limited in the same year.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities Management team in Lagos. The successful candidate will assist the Facilities Manager in documentation, fleet management, insurance matters, and overall facilities update.
This role is ideal for an OND holder who is organized, proactive, and eager to build a career in facilities and administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective and efficient documentation for easy filing and retrieval of papers.
- Always have enough stationery for the operation of the firm.
- Ensure that vehicle documents are renewed before they expire to prevent paying fines to appropriate government offices.
- Respond to client enquiries (internal and external) and report them to the Facilities Manager.
- To maintain accountability, ensure that canteen bills are computed and paid on time.
- To avoid line disconnection, ensure that telephone bills are paid on time.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with insurance, fleet management, asset paperwork, and other related tasks.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in taking meeting briefs and minutes for HSE meetings.
- Ensure accurate circulation of vehicle particulars to all official vehicle users as soon as possible to avoid penalties and fines from regulatory agencies.
- To help Facilities Manager with documentation and facility updates.
Qualification
- Applicants must have an Ordinary National Diploma.
