Job Description.
The Prospective will plan, source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials at the best possible timing, contract conditions, and pricing for the organization’s needs, all while adhering to the organization’s guiding values and government regulations.
Responsibilities for Procurement Officer at The Place Restaurant:
- Monitor business demand to devise a strategy for refilling inventory, locating the best suppliers, and making wise purchasing decisions.
- Regularly analyze and negotiate costs, specifications, and terms with suppliers to ensure that the best solutions are accessible when required.
- Track market trends and conditions (such as weather) that influence product prices, particularly for crucial raw material acquisitions.
- Product cost components should be updated on a regular basis to find opportunities for cost savings.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while placing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and other parties to ensure that operations run smoothly, including delivery and customs procedures.
- Process the appropriate shipping documentation and guarantee that supplies arrive on time for utilization in the plant.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
- HND/B.sc in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable discipline. Second Class (upper division) or Upper credit is required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Fluent in English and Hausa.
- Proficient in procurement procedures, negotiation strategies, and vendor management.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to correctness in all parts of work.
