Position Summary
The function is focused on the timely and accurate compliance with statutory tax responsibilities across all business units. Main duties include preparation of monthly and annual submissions for PAYE, VAT, Pension, CIT, EDT, PTF and WHT, maintaining detailed record of remittances and downloading weekly WHT credit notes from the FIRS computer.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up with monthly and annual filing of all statutory dues (PAYE, VAT, PENSION,
- CIT, EDT, PTF & WHT) in respect of all units and ensure documentation of all relevant support and proof of all tax remittances.
- Responsible for weekly downloading of “WHT credit note” from FIRS server for all units and
- as may be required by a direct superior manager.
- Maintain up to date data base on Tax Related Payments (staff PAYE, Pension and Dev.
- Levy, WHT) and Collating information for tax returns filling.
- Interface with account officers and collecting tax data to update tax records.
- Visit local tax office under the directive of his/ her superior
- Ensure weekly reports of Tax related positions and updates.
- Manage both tax Audit related files.
- Other assignments by the superior Manager and Head of Tax cell.
Education
BSC/ HND Accounting
Professional Qualification:
- ICAN Intermediate
Experience
Two – Three years’ experience in the same position.
