Job description:
To develop a culture of physical and cyber security awareness that will drive behavioral changes inside the firm with good analytical skills and the ability to mitigate risk to secure the physical safety and integrity of personnel and company information.
The Chief Security Officer will create and manage a comprehensive security program for our organization and be responsible for the security of both physical and digital resources.
Responsibilities
- Investigate security breaches, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective/disciplinary action.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits of company facilities and assets, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Work with management to develop and implement an appropriate budget for security programs.
- Build a comprehensive security program that includes physical safety and cybersecurity policies.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of security infrastructure such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Ensure that the company’s security policies comply with federal laws and legislation.
- Manage, evaluate, and resolve any physical or digital security incidents or breaches.
- Present risk assessments and improved security policies to management team members.
- Review existing security measures and update protocols as needed.
- Develop, test, and maintain emergency response and business continuity/crisis management plans.
- Manage visitor, vehicle, and staff access control at all company premises.
- Coordinate the activities of the internal security personnel and delegate daily assignments.
- Oversee the daily security operations of the company to identify potential security risks and room for improvement.
- Coordinate with the outsourced security company on company decisions and security needs.
- Foster a culture of physical and digital security awareness by conducting training sessions and communicating with personnel.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/HND, MSc/Masters in Cybersecurity, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Security Manager/Chief Security Officer.
- Relevant military background.
- Proven ability to drive change and engage others.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Sound communication skills.
